2. What Data We Collect
We may collect and process the following categories of personal data:
- Identity data: your full name, date of birth, job title, company name, Companies House registration number, VAT number
- Contact data: email address, phone number, postal address, postcode
- Utility and site data: energy/gas/water meter readings, MPAN/MPRN references, estimated annual consumption, current supplier and contract details
- Financial data: business turnover, loan requirements and application data (for finance applications only), bank account details (for direct debit mandates)
- Identity verification data: proof of identity, proof of address, director information (where required for credit checks or KYB)
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, session tokens, and cookies
- Usage data: pages visited, features used, navigation patterns, quote and application history
- Communications data: support tickets, messages, feedback, and correspondence
- Consent records: timestamped records of all consents given and withdrawn
- Signature data: electronic signatures, signing certificates, and audit trail data
3. How We Use Your Data
- To create and manage your Platform account
- To provide and personalise utility comparison quotes and market insights
- To submit quote requests and switch applications to suppliers on your behalf
- To process business finance applications (via Approvity and associated lenders)
- To request credit and identity checks through the relevant supplier, finance provider or authorised credit-reference provider where you have provided explicit consent
- To generate and manage Letters of Authority (LOAs) and contracts (via DocuSign)
- To send account notifications, renewal reminders, and service alerts
- To comply with our legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations
- To detect and prevent fraud, misuse, and security threats
- To improve the Platform using anonymised analytics data
- To send marketing communications, only where you have opted in
4. Legal Basis for Processing
We process your personal data under the following lawful bases (UK GDPR Article 6):
- Contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b)) — to deliver the services you request, including account management, quote generation, and switching applications
- Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) — to improve our Platform, detect fraud, conduct analytics, and operate our business where our interests are not overridden by your rights
- Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)) — to comply with applicable UK law, tax obligations, and regulatory requirements
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — for marketing communications, optional data sharing, credit checks, and any other processing where we specifically seek your consent
You may withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of prior processing.
5. Third Parties We Share Data With
We share relevant data with carefully selected third-party providers as necessary to deliver our services. We do not sell your personal data to any third party.
- Approvity — business finance application processing and lender matching
- Jellyfish Energy — utility tariff comparison, supplier API pricing, contract switching
- Online Direct and relevant suppliers — manual business-credit and supplier-eligibility checks (with your explicit consent only)
- DocuSign — electronic signature processing for LOAs and contracts
- Utility Warehouse — energy and telecoms supply referrals
- Blizzard Telecom — telephony and connectivity products
- Teya Merchant Services — payment terminal and merchant services referrals
- Online Direct — business services referral partner
- Google / Microsoft — authentication services (login only; no marketing data shared)
- Google Maps — address lookup and mapping features
- Base44 Ltd — application hosting, database, and backend infrastructure (sub-processor under DPA)
- Email and SMS providers — transactional and marketing communications delivery
- Approvity (finance broker network) — business finance broker and aggregator that matches your application to lenders including Iwoca, Funding Circle, Liberis, Capify and others
- Utility suppliers — to facilitate switching and contract activations

6. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as necessary to provide our services, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes. Standard retention periods:
- Account and profile data: duration of account + 6 years after closure
- Quote and contract records: 6 years from contract date
- Finance application records: 6 years (regulatory requirement)
- Signed LOAs and documents: 6 years from signing date
- Consent records: 3 years from last consent action
- Support and communications records: 3 years
- Security and access logs: 12 months
7. International Transfers
Some of our service providers may process data outside the United Kingdom. Where this occurs, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place in accordance with UK GDPR Chapter V, such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), UK International Data Transfer Agreements (IDTAs), or ICO adequacy decisions. 8. Your Rights Under UK GDPR
Under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of all personal data we hold about you (Subject Access Request)
- Rectification — request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
- Erasure — request deletion of your data where there is no longer a lawful basis for retention
- Restriction — request that we limit processing while a dispute is resolved
- Portability — request your data in a structured, machine-readable format where processing is based on consent or contract
- Object — object to processing based on legitimate interests, including profiling and direct marketing
- Automated decisions (Art. 22) — request human review of any automated decision that significantly affects you
- Withdraw consent — at any time where processing is consent-based

We implement appropriate technical and organisational security measures including TLS encryption in transit, encryption at rest, role-based access controls, and audit logging. No method of electronic transmission is 100% secure. In the event of a breach affecting your data, we will notify you and the ICO as required by UK GDPR.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email or in-platform notification. The "Last updated" date will be revised on any update.
